Cass Bradley believes a woman is more than ‘milestones and titles’ society assigns us. (More than: wife, mother, weight, age and most especially more than “lady-like” and the color pink.)
‘Societal Expectations’ highlights 3 women spiritedly running in the same direction— feet barely touching the ground/head in the clouds…away from those expectations.
Cass attempts to create movement and energy in the piece using both natural wind and a wide-open aperture paired with manual camera movement-meant to create the appearance of brush strokes. Finally, the piece was brushed with a cold wax medium meant to enhance the effect and printed on gallery-wrapped canvas.
